Introduction

Excitement, confusion, and the heart-throbbing excitement of a new academic year! All of this hits us like the sudden rush of blood to our heads. Even with our advancement to a higher level of education, some things never change. The confusion regarding timetables, rooms, new people, and the worst thing, in particular...The most dreaded aspect of all. Self-introductions...

My name is Zoe, and I'm one of the many CDM students to be seen around the campus. I'm from Cork City, and I'm incredibly lost half the time I'm here.

My main interest involves games of all kinds, art, and food. In addition, I like to pick up interests randomly. I've tried learning languages (Latin, Sumerian, Indonesian, Italian, French, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Cantonese Chinese), learning about specific history periods (Ancient Mesopotamia and the Ottoman Empire), and had a passing interest in PC building just to name a few. You mention it, I've probably had an interest in it in the past! Although, please don't ask me to speak or read any of the languages I've mentioned. I'm very bad at all of them...

I wanted to attend the CDM course because I intended to pursue a graphic design or illustration-based career. The CDM course also allows me to try other creative outlets that I could potentially pursue as a career. Most aspects of the course are things that I've already had an interest in. However, I was either unable to or uncertain as to where to start. I'm particularly interested to learn about photography, editing, and web development! I have absolutely no history in video production so it will be a new experience for me as I'm sure it will be for a lot of people. All in all, I look forward to trying new things and meeting new people.
